About the Course

A Community health worker is a dedicated individual who functions along a continuum ranging from individual and community development to service delivery and promoting community empowerment and social justice. They often help link people to needed health care information and services. Upon completion of the Community Health Worker Certification course, you will be able to;

i. Apply advocacy and community capacity building skills

ii. Effectively apply oral and written communication skills

iii. Demonstrate cultural competency

iv. Understand ethics and confidentiality issues

v. Demonstrate knowledge of local resources and system navigation

vi. Provide care coordination support skills

ix. Understand public health concepts and health literacy
