Can  I register for an additional class/cohort after I have completed one?

Yes. However, the goal of the Futureproof Me program is to ensure each graduate obtains meaningful employment in their respective area of study.

Are background checks required?

What is required to complete an application/intake form?

All you need to complete your initial application is your basic demographic information (name, address, telephone, e-mail, etc.) and some form of identification, we will help you with the rest!

Can you help me obtain employment while in the program? 

What certification do I obtain after completion?

Each vocational training program prepares students for industry-recognized credentials, including certifications from ServSafe, Microsoft, Google, the Maryland Department of Health, and SPIN Micro-Mobility. Learn more Here.

Educational background needs for each training may vary. If you do not have a high school diploma/GED you can enroll in some of our trainings, however, there are some that require a minimum high school diploma/GED.

What are the hours of each class?

Class times will vary by vocation. The average student can expect to attend class Monday through Friday in either morning or afternoon classroom hours. Morning sessions run from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. while afternoon classes run from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Our workforce development team provides individualized job search assistance during and after training for students who request support.

My application/intake is completed, what happens next?

No. Background checks are not required for enrollment in training. However, once you have completed training, some employers may require you to complete a background check as a condition of employment.

Once you have completed your application/intake form, you will be contacted by a VETWorkS liaison to attend orientation.

Each one our fields of study has been carefully chosen for its trending growth in the labor marketplace. With a strong network of employer partners who frequently recruit from VETWorkS programs, many graduates go on to earn competitive, above-entry-level wages, depending on employer, experience, and labor-market conditions.

Can I take more than one course at a time?

VETWorkS Vocational Trainings are all inclusive. For students who qualify for grant-funded pathways—including SNAP E&T, WIOA, philanthropic scholarships, and veteran-focused workforce programs—there is no cost to the student. VETWorkS covers tuition, materials, and certification fees for all eligible participants.

What happens if I need more time to complete my course?

For students who qualify for grant-funded pathways—including SNAP E&T, WIOA, philanthropic scholarships, and veteran-focused workforce programs—there is no cost to the student. VETWorkS covers tuition, materials, and certification fees for all eligible participants.

All of our students will have follow-up support for an additional 3 months (90 days after graduation. If you need additional time let your case manager know, and we will be glad to help. 

No. Only one vocational training can be taken per cohort. 

How long is each cohort?

Each cohort is 15-16 weeks in length with an additional 12 weeks (3 months) of follow-up.

What kind of career/salary can I expect in my field?

What materials will I need to begin classes?

Students should bring basic needs, notebook, pen, etc.
